Lady in Red – promised her a copy then lost her email

Lady in RedLady in Red

From across the street I saw a girl sitting outside All Souls Church, London in this stunning red dress and I asked if I could take her picture.

After I took the photo she asked to see it.  I told her it would look kind of odd as I was trying out my new Samyang 8mm lens.  She said “I like it anyway……… may I have a copy?”  So I asked her to put her email address in my phone so I could email it to her.  It was definitely in my notes app – I saw it – but I must have forgotten to save it because, when I got home, no email address in my notes app.

I felt really bad – no doubt she’ll think I couldn’t be bothered. Maybe someone will one day recognise her and I’ll get her email address – that would be a good story to tell.

If I take a photo of someone and they know I’ve taken it I sometimes offer to let them have a copy or, if they are always in the same place, take them a print.

I once gave a print to a chap who didn’t know I’d taken his photo in the street – I nice thing to do I thought.  Wrong! he was really unhappy and even demanded I destroy the photo.
